Swan

Status: Closed and demolished
Address: 176 Rotherhithe Street, SE16 (streetmap) (osm) (gmap) (bingmap) (streetview)
London borough: Southwark
Former address: 309 Rotherhithe Street (1871)
Historical parish: Rotherhithe
Dates open: by 1789-at least 1882
Notes: The only record giving a name is a 1789 Sun Fire Office insurance record at 309 Rotherhithe Street calling it the "Swan", though there's no evidence from Post Office directories or census returns of this being a beer retailer until 1869 (though this doesn't mean it wasn't there). I any case, this may not have been the name it was using at that later time.
