King's Arms Tavern

Status: Closed and demolished
Address: Borough High Street, SE1 (streetmap) (osm) (gmap) (bingmap) (streetview)
Note: The location on these maps is approximate.
London borough: Southwark
Historical parish: Southwark St Saviour
Dates open: 1685-c1793
Notes: A plan of 1686 reproduced in the Survey of London shows this pub on the west side of the Counter Prison and sessions house (adjoining what was Counter Street, now named Borough High St), with a passage leading to it from the main body of Borough High St on the east. The Survey mentions the building was replaced in 1793 by a Town Hall, so presumably the pub closed before this time.
