Notes: According to an information board in the pub, it was originally established in 1641 and rebuilt in 1815. According to the Survey of London, the pub was originally in the entire building (now 43-44 Clerkenwell Green and 55 Clerkenwell Close), but has since been confined just to 43 Clerkenwell Green on the corner, and that 44 Clerkenwell Green was rebuilt in the 1820s or 1830s.
